Portraiture is Rita Van Horn’s first calling, but she also enjoys the challenges of Landscape and Still Life.

A resident of the Golden Isles of Georgia for over 20 years, Rita is affiliated with the Glynn Art and Jekyll Island Art Associations where her work has been accepted in numerous juried shows and won recognition.

Rita began drawing and painting as a child and continued to develop her talent through study at the University of Tennessee in Art and Art History where she earned a B.A. Degree in Liberal Arts. She has studied with renowned artists Daniel Greene, Jeanne Szabo and Martha Carpenter.

Rita and her husband, Pete, enjoy the laid back lifestyle of Oak Grove Island, GA, and their hobbies - tennis, bike riding and travel.
